Because pirates offer a better service than the media industry will ever be able to provide to a worldwide audience. 

It’s that simple. 

Get you’re shit together MPAA or RIAA. And provide a WORLDWIDE service for movie/music streaming, rental, buying, even downloading. And then you’ll get more money than you will ever want. 

Though… 

Do not offer old movies directed to that audience in a specific country. Instead provide ALL of the content, ALL OF THE TIME. Like Amazon in the US, but WORLDWIDE. Oh, and also do worldwide streaming on the day after DVD release. Or same day if possible 

Do that. 

And I’m sure people will make you money. 

And here’s the thing, I consider piracy to the be the sucessor of what is now normal in our life. 

Look at Napster, iTunes followed. Jailbreaking you’re iDevice, then Apps came around. Look at Megavideo, then Netflix, Amazon, Blockbuster. 

Just offer a better worldwide service around the world. People will flock to it. That’s the truth. 

Oh, and learn to use the internet. Thank you. :) I’m sure we can all be happy.
